Hi there,
I'm living in Germany and considering to move to a smart meter contract like Octopus flex.
Reason to consider this move is relative high energy need with 2 BEV's and a heat pump. To a certain extend I can shift the main energy consumption of those installations to cheaper time slots. Now I'm still wondering how to optimize further considering my 10 kW battery system, which is typically completely empty during the winter months.
Unfortunately it looks as if my system is too old for the new ToU function in the Solax App.
However entering the SolaxCloud dashboard with my desktop I see 4 different work modes:
(1) Self-use
(2) Forced Charging&Discharging
(3) Backup Mode
(4) Feed-in Priority
Am I right, that the work mode "(2) Forced Charging&Discharging" could be favorable for a smart meter tarif, keeping in mind that the night tarif is typcially much cheaper than e.g. the tarif between 4 - 7 pm later the day?
Question:
- What is the best manner to operate my system manually, or can I switch the working mode directly in the App, as well?
- Where to find more information how the forced charging&discharging works exactly?
My gutfeeling tells me that I should use the mode 2 overnight aiming to have my battery fully loaded in the morning 6am. Than I switch to the working mode (1) to use this energy during the more expensive day time.
