No battery charge

For the first time ever my battery didn't charge last night.

I have used the app for a few weeks but have noticed that there is now a subscription charge

Could this be the reason the battery didn't charge? Some kind of setting that I have in place that the move to a subscription has changed?

Seems strange it happened last night.. maybe coincidence but wanted to ask

Altink Yep, looks like your 14 day Free trial has run out and Schedules have now been paused.

If you are happy with the service, you can purchase a subscription on the Subscription page, available via the WW menu, thanks!

So that would have overridden my charge schedule done outside of the WW app? I didn't set my charge schedule here I kept that on the shineapp

Strange. So I had no schedules linked to charging in the WW app.
I had a discharge schedule before 11.30pm last night

So you're saying the WW trial expiration wouldn't have affected the charge schedule???

So I've gone into the shineapp and all the existing schedules have been erased when my trial expired.

I am surprised you do not send any reminders or warnings this is about to happen if I do not enter into a paid subscription.

Today I have now had to use power at full price all day because your change over stopped my battery charging last night.

Therefore this app has now cost me money not saved me money 🤦‍♂️

Would be good to understand if this was expected behaviour or a bug in your system

Yes I sympathise, it can be annoying when that happens, though it is quite common these days for other service providers (which are a lot less reliable, have more or less nil support, and much more expensive than WW) don't even allow you to try their software /app for free, you have to surrender your payment details upfront, and its up to you to cancel the subscription before the free trial period ends. I understand that the new WhatsApp messaging feature in WW (have you got it setup) will alert you in the future for account administration reminders and so on. If the service has been working well for you maybe a subscription would pay dividends for you in the future? If your are with Octopus 2 free hours tomorrow 12-2pm

When the trail subscription ended ALL my settings for the battery were wiped.

Charging and Discharge settings
Battery discharge limits also wiped
Basically all the settings for my battery are gone.
Even things like battery discharge limits have gone (I think these were set to 10% before)

Is this a bug or normal expectations?

If it's the latter, I really think this needs a clear warning before the trial comes to an end

Ah, this happens when you navigate to the Pause page and your sub has expired already, but it's not been actioned by the server functions yet.

We will remove this mechanism. That way, the server function will run and then toggle the Pause switch.

Good point, we will need to send out an email reminder or phone notification out if that happens, thank you.

I have to admit I wasn't aware that there was a subscription yet.. I think the message that appears in the app said something about everything being in place and nothing to worry about. I don't think I ever saw a mention of a few trial.

That being said if the value is there and a services is provided there 100% should be a charge, I'm not disputing that. I'm just not sure the functionality of moving from trial to paid has been thought about enough and things like this should be flagged so the end user knows what is about to happen.

The free 2 HR session tomorrow with Octopus is something I will take advantage of.. just not sure if it covers the cost of the app and the cost today's 24hrs expensive energy 😉

WW is a good system, its like any new software or app when you first start to use it, its like information overload trying to comprehend all the settings, what they mean, and what they actually do, and more importantly how you can best take advantage of them. There are a number of very helpful knowledgeable users on here, who will help you, and there's that @admin guy who seems to pop up on every thread on here. 😆 My advice is if you can, renew you subscription, stick with it, I don't think you will be disappointed going forward.
