IOG GE settings

Sorry newbie question which I'm sure is answered on here somewhere but hours of trawling and I can't find it.
I'm new to IOG - I have a Givenergy AIO and need to understand if I have the WW settings correct.

I've tried to manufacture a situation where Octopus will charge my EV with them using smart control and so that my AIO will charge at the same time. They did just start a charging session but without a charging schedule showing on the Octopus App. Consequently the car was charging from my AIO
ATM I have (WW Intelligent page) planned intelligent charge slots - 23.30 - 05.30
Hold Charge Off
Smart charge ON
Auto Charge Rate OFF
Active ON

Am I missing something (probably!)

COYS68 with IOG, are you charger of EV integrated?
ie. do you set "charge target %" or "charge to add %".

If you're EV integrated, you may need to stop the initial charge and wait for a schedule to appear.

Without a charge schedule being created, there's no signal being sent for WW to use.

I have the Zappi integrated - that seemed to be the better was as we have 2 EVs

That page is exactly as your screenshot. TBH the last few days has worked really well so I'm happy to let it ride for a few days and see if that continues. It was probably always set right but I was maybe not believing enough 😉

One of the problems is that when Octopus change a schedule, unless you've noted it somewhere, it's hard to know whether you should or should not have been on a Smart Charge slot

So...I've identified, what for me at least is, a bit of an anomaly.

Yesterday I plugged the car in and it smart charged through different time slots and then overnight. I didn't actually end up needing the car this morning and it has remained plugged in. Octopus has, unbeknown to me (because I had no cause to check), set a further smart charge schedule today even though the car is fully charged. Anyone know if the electricity supplied in that period will be cheap rate or not? It's fully charged my GE battery so I rather hope it is.....

Good news and bad unfortunately - it does appear that IOG will set a cheap schedule even though the car is full from the previous day's charge, unfortunately WW allowed the Home battery to be charged during a slot which I'm guessing got changed by Octopus, meaning about a quid of standard rate used unnecessarily (@admin - 12.00 - 13.00 on the 14th December). Not the end of the world but it will end up being more costly using WW than not at this rate

It's what shows on the Octopus portal. Lots of cheap rate slots but this was standard rate. I assume that once they have made the adjustment from all standard rate, to applying the cheap rate slots, that is it done and they don't return and tweak it some more at a later date....

COYS68 I guess it’s impossible for us to know at the point where they issue a cheap off peak slot, and then after the fact change it.

We have logic in place that once an IOG smart charging slot has started, we only stop it close to the 00/30 min next boundary.

We may need to revisit that.

admin I've noticed recently, as IOG becomes more fragmented, that Octopus seem to be changing timings, particularly for broken up charges, right at the last minute.
As WW sends instructions in the 5minutes before the HH, it's becoming more common in this scenario for Octopus to change a schedule after the instructions have already been sent to the inverter.

Is it possible to have a re-check in the 0-5 and/or 30-35min period, to see if the IOG slot still exists?

MrMessy We already have that check but think that given the frequent IOG changes, it may be better to remove the logic to keep the current charge active and disrupt/stop it the moment we know it's not active anymore.

5 min window isn't sufficient enough to check all users' IOG schedules btw. Looking at 12+ mins or so.

That won't affect 23:30-05:30 I presume.
By which I mean, say you had smart charging slots 22:00-00:30, then 03:00-06:00 for example, and they changed for any reason, we'd (well, I) still want batteries/houseload to come from the grid in the "default" period.

Just thinking ahead to when Octopus introduce this 6hr smart charging limit.
