Nice add on to WW. I have been using Axle (combined with GivEnergy Battery & Gen3 Inverter + Octopus Flux) for a couple of months and it works as sold:
• GE subscription paid for
• Axle pay via smart meter readings as promised
My only gripe is that when I get the 24hrs warning e-mail from Axle I need to disable the discharge events on WW and then remember to re-enable them. Typically I get £3 for each 1 hour event (£6 for the 2 hour eclipse event last night)…
…this is pretty easy to do and is just on the cusp of being worth the effort - I really want a 'set and forget' set up.
Can the process be automated?
- I have pasted the Axle token into my WW settings - I have the same question as above. I cannot see how I stop Axle requesting a discharge, so I assume that both WW and Axle will request a discharge? I will see how this works in practice at the next event!
- Many of the Axle events seem to be at 8pm or 9pm, ie after I have discharged the battery for the Octopus 4pm to 7pm 29p/kWh peak rate discharge. Obviously £1/kWh from Axle is better so I would like to automatically cancel the scheduled export event when there is an Axle event on later the same day (perhaps another binary selector switch in the export logic).
Has anyone worked out how to stop Axle requesting a discharge (assuming that WW is now doing this) or does Axle somehow work this out as I have copied the token and WW is now linked to Axle?
@admin, could the "disable discharge if Axle event later today" feature be added to WW? I am not sure if this will help others not on Octopus Flux?
