I been using data to determine if agile or flux would be better, as the flux tariff has dropped significantly this year. Agile export is 0.15p at all times. Flux is 14.49p during the day and just 23.77p for peak, which is just 8p more. We haven't had many really sunny days yet, but I am beginning to think that Agile might be at least equal to flux if the morning rate is low enough. Flux during the early morning is 14.26p, Agile can be much lower that this, although I haven't experienced Agile during late spring, summer months yet...? It could be higher than flux? Being on the right tariff is so important to help make enough money to pay for the winter months. It was easy with flux last year, but this year, it doesn't seem as generous. I'll keep taking records and will report if anything changes, but at the moment of low sunlight, agile is killing it, including exporting battery for 3 hours a day and filling up with really cheap electric during the night. Working out: Agile: (export 9kw @0.15p = £1.35). That makes **£40.5** per 30 day month. Flux: export at peak times 30 days a month @23.95p results in **£64.66.** Question is, does the import from the grid cost more or less than £24 for a month using Agile - in summer? Import from the grid for flux is just under 0.24p daytime, Agile varies but is seldom that high outside of peak hours. Agile 0.15p export just tops Flux's 0.145p day time export. But just by half a penny. Sooooo, we'll see.... but i don't think we are going to see massive export sums mounting up like last year :( Of course tariffs are lower in general too. Intelligent Flux would be better when it gets really sunny! I have included data for that tariff too!

Just a note, because we have been having lot of pluge pricing of course Agile is better at the moment. Now they coming to an end I should start getting a better understanding of which tariff to go for through the summer months.

@"Gazzagreen"#p2902 Please do keep posting your thoughts on this. I think from what you’ve posted before we both have a similar setup (5.8kw PV + 16kwh battery here) so I’m also deliberating over whether to go to flux again this summer.

@"Capt_Rich"#p2905 Flux is definitely NOT what it was last year. We'll not be making a lot of money off it anymore. But when the sun comes out properly, I think it's still going to be the best tariff by far. Per cost per Kilowatt, Agile will probably be in mid to high teens with no wind? 15p export. So it is either Flux of Flux intelligent? Intelligent might be the best solution if you are not charging a car by the grid??? I have an electric Scooter :D

No I agree that Flux won't be as good as last year, jury is certainly still out with me.

I was on Flux last year, and have switched to Agile+Fixed around a month ago, from the figures I calculated it would work out better for me.

@"RichardB"#p3011 Yes, I have made a simple calculator so I can keep an eye on what I would have paid using Flux and Flux Int, and Agile has been cheaper every day (except Wed) for the last couple of weeks. **Note:** Wed my Giv energy portal says I didn't import a single watt, I don't believe that but it's what data I am stuck with. It was probably more like 0.17Kw for both home and batt as you can't stop the system importing a tiny amount? I was using solar the entire day and batt at night. No grid. Since Agile is now about the same cost during the night as the export rate of 15p, (or slightly lower), I thought **May** might be the time to switch to Flux. That way I can charge the battery over night (14.26p) so that I have a full battery every day to start with no matter what the weather. I'm hoping the sun will keep the battery full all day _(plus extra export)_ until peak time, where I can export at full speed (3.6kWh) for three hours at 23.95p. Seems to be the best way to do it. I want to make as much profit as possible towards the winter payments. 🤔 I'll use my calculator to keep an eye on prices.

I've set up charging and export similar to what I would have with Flux, so I should see a more accurate comparison.

OK, so I have today changed to Flux. I have done some testing over the last few weeks, and here is last months figures. I exported as much as I could from the batteries between 4 and 7. Luckily enough I had enough battery every day to achieve this although a lot of it was imported during the night, as well as charging the (c) car on certain days. Charging my (s) scooter was all done using sunlight. Flux is now become slightly cheaper than agile, but as the sun shines brighter, it will prove its worth more and more. Eventually I will change to flux intelligent during the hottest months, then flux again, then Agile for the winter... Sun there was a bit of wind so Agile was cheaper there so i used more electric than I would of normally..... Questions, please ask.

I believe your standing charge will vary depending on which version you are on (and not just region). It is now technically a fixed tariff so when you commit to another twelve months your standing charge is set at that point for the whole 12 months... the agile bit is obviously still variable!

Looking online for Southern region:

Dec 23 version is 47.95p and April 2024 is 61.27p so it will depend at which point you have to confirm you want to stay on it for a further twelve months... (I am still on Dec 2023 so only pay 48p currently)!

Above prices all include VAT at 5% so KevinD's price is ex-vat and consistent with mine.
