Force discharge button?

This is a really niche request, but hopefully also on the easy side to implement…

Could we get a button somewhere that when clicked commands the battery to discharge at 100%? And press it again to stop?

If you need to know my use case: I don’t get anything for exporting and sometimes it is actually briefly economical to dump my battery into my car. Today for instance I’m going out at 3 o’clock and I am dumping my battery until then. When I then go out I can be reasonably sure that the sun will top the battery back up again.

If I just left things be, when I do go out, my battery will be at 100% and I’ll be exporting the entire time I’m out.

I can do it in the shine phone app but it’s a pain to faff with the password etc., and then do it again when I want it to stop. I don’t doubt you guys could do it in more elegant way.

psiloc Yeah we'll have a look at that in the week. Could be a quick win.

Great Idea, we already have this on the GIV-Energy app, but you could expand on this by putting an end time on it and a export to minimum level. It then reverts to "Eco" mode again when one is reached (incase you forget about it).

This would be really useful. The GE app buttons are great but you can't put an end time on the action so I have to set an alarm to remind me to go back to the app.

Maybe you could have the force charge and pause battery buttons as well? Then it would be possible to do the GE app quick buttons without having the app.

Well colour me surprised, glad to see it's not just me with a need for this! I guess people with Agile will always potentially have the need to manually override their schedules or something?

In my head at the moment, it's two buttons at the bottom of the dashboard: "Force Charge" & "Force Discharge", a dropdown with number of hours, and a Go button. The Go button can turn into a Stop button to manually cut it short when in effect, or there can just be a dedicated Stop button at all times. But whatever works for @admin!

I'm jealous of how you guys have described the GE app. The Growatt app makes this absurdly tedious.

psiloc Yeah - it's just not quite as simple as we had initially thought. We want to effectively use the underlying schedules mechanics.
