Another enthusiastic new adopter here. GivEnergy battery plus solar on Octopus Flux.
I've set up a charge overnight in the 2-5am slot. WW generally gets the level about right, though I've set a minimum charge of 60%. Then I discharge from 17:00, down to 55%. That gives enough for cooking (we eat late) and overnight use until 2am again.
A few days ago the forecast solar was very wrong, and we only got a little solar during the day. The battery dropped to 40% or so. It got sunny around 3pm and the battery charged to 66% so a short discharge was programmed in. However, after that there was still a fair amount of solar power which was put into the battery rather than being exported. The battery rose to 66% again.
I would have made more money by exporting during the peak export period rather than charging the battery - which just reduced the next day's charge cycle by a little bit.
So, a suggestion: that a checkbox is added to the Daily Discharge, or even made the default for the period, that the battery level is held during the time period set. I guess that means turning off Eco mode for the whole period.
