Growatt battery SOC 0%

I have a Growatt SPH 5000 with export schedules that I enable manually depending on agile pricing, plus agile charging. My schedules often don't run seemingly because the SOC is misreported as 0%, but it is actually above 80%. Is there any known setting or changes I need to make to avoid this?

jrc According to Growatt, the BMS don't allow discharging below 10%. This setting is not user configurable.
So the error I guess lies in the communication or in the API.

Thanks perfrank but the SOC is not actually 0% - it is misreported as 0%. I have clarified this in my original post.

I believe this is due to the Growatt server that quite often shows an inverter to be off line when it isn't. Happens randomly all the time and affects many users from what you read on other forums. It also affects the Growatt Shinephone app. For much of the day today my inverter was shown as being offline, with 0% SOC when it was actually closer to 100%.

If you don't have a shinelink wireless box yet I would highly recommend over the shinelan dongle I got with my SPH. I used to get drop outs all the time from the inverter tk the server. I haven't had one drop out since getting this. This may be contributing to the problem you're having??

I removed the ShineLAN dongle and replaced it with a ShineWiFi-X dongle as you suggested. Not the easiest dongle to configure. It proved incompatible with my modern Linksys Mesh system, (2.4 and 5 Gb bands). I created a sub WiFi network using an old Netgear Wifi extender which operates only in the 2.4 Gb band. The ShineWiFi-X dongle configured easily with this arrangement, and has not faltered since. Datalogging is solid at every 5 minutes. The ShinePhone App and Wonder Watt all work perfectly.

I've no idea why the ShineLAN dongle had problems. It could possibly of been subject to interference from my Hive central heating controller that also uses a RF link.

Hi WW team

This remains an ongoing issue for me. I don't have connectivity problems via the ShinePhone app, nor the WW dashboard which shows the battery configuration, SOC etc. I have observed that:

Agile charge slots overnight usually set correctly.
Agile charge slots during the day fail, stating 'Failed to set inverter schedule for Agile slot'
Export schedules do NOT usually set correctly. It is often for these and day (but not night) Agile slots where the log shows that the battery SOC is 0%, but it isn't 0% in reality when checked via ShinePhone or via the WW dashboard (System Energy Flow): the WW dashboard correctly reports the SOC, but the export or day Agile schedule is still not activated.

If the WW dashboard and ShinePhone can both correctly read the SOC, why can't the export schedule / day Agile algorithm?

jrc It looks like there was no response from your inverter. See attached detailed diagnostics log for the 16:50 attempted export, including several retries.

Thank you for the log! Am I able to access them directly from this end to see if its always the same issue? Worth noting that the WW user log does not reflect that no response was received but instead says conditions not met!

Will try moving the dongle to see if it is a connection issue.

Nope, but this error should have resurfaced in your WW activity log properly. We'll sort that out.
