Hold Charge function failing….

Hi there

I’ve posted before about this issue and as far as I was aware there was not currently a fix for it, so I’m trying again now. It’s only with the gen 3 inverters. But during the hold charge phase, the battery continues to discharge at 140ish watts although the settings are to hold charge activated, and discharge at 0%. I’ve tried tweeking settings in numerous ways but to no success.

Solutions anybody?

What happens if you pause the battery via the GE app?
What happens if you manually set the battery discharge rate to zero via the GE web portal?

This would mean I need to check the time slots each night and set my alarm at 2am or 4am for example to manually engage pause. I have taken some screen shots of the remote instructions, it appears the api is to hold charge at the beginning of the charge cycle, but then at the end of the charge cycle an instruction is sent for permission discharge at full power, it still doesn't

make sense to me though...

I've just found this, which I have not seen before, I'm assuming this must be what johalareewi was talking about??

jonnyjameswalker Right, there shouldn't be any difference setting the discharge power via the Giv portal, compared to what WW does when setting discharge to 0.

The pause functionality may be a solution for some Giv users, but may not be ideal. I believe it's easier to set the Pause via the Giv mobile app.

Ok brill I try the timed pause, I just hope this doesn't stop the agile cheap slot charging. I assume i'll have to use the timed discharge function in the app. to pause on app in the night I would need to wake up and manually turn on pause after every cheap slot.

FYI When you use the GE app quick buttons to pause the battery, it sets both the battery charge rate and battery discharge rate to zero. You can use one of the GE app settings to manually set only the battery discharge rate (like you can via the web portal).

Having manually set the battery discharge to zero using GE software, you can see if the battery still discharges a bit. That way you can tell if it is a GE thing or a WW thing.
My money is on a GE thing.
