SilverArt I’m using a Growatt battery. I’m now thinking this may not be as big an issue as I first thought. I’ve just installed the solar and battery. The Growatt app tells me I exported to the grid, apparently Octopus will pay me 8p per kWh when I complete the documentation , slightly more than I was charged to charge the battery overnight. The battery, 15 Kw, had enough charge to last the day. In this example there is no benefit in charging less overnight. I’m about to add another 5kw to reduce the chance of needing to use peak grid power.
In the winter months using Octopus Go I can’t see anything Wonderwatt can add, happy to be proved wrong. In the summer I will switch to Octopus Flux. I’ll only get 10kWh of cheap overnight power, I’ll use Wonderwatt to reduce this to zero when a high solar day is forecast and feed back to the grid during the peak feedback period. Is this what other Octopus customers do?
