sugary-entertainment I seem to be experiencing something really weird... I've got two charging windows set up, each with four charging slots and hold turned on. The one that is set to run in the afternoon completes successfully, but the one that runs overnight doesn't charge. Is there a setting somewhere that I've got wrong? I've previously had charge windows work fine overnight with hold turned off, but if hold is working through the afternoon I can't figure out what's going on? Does anyone have any thoughts/suggestions? @"merlinsnotin"#p6074 Looks like the commands are being issued fine. First thing that comes to mind is: is your inverter located outside? Perhaps low temps is affecting its ability to charge in those half hour slots? Everything looked fine to me too, which is why I was a bit confused! Thanks for the temperature suggestion. The inverter and battery are in the garage (but against an external wall), so I guess could be temperature affected. It looks like the overnight temperatures are picking up over the weekend, so I might leave the settings as they are, and see what happens. I'll let you know if I make any progress with solving the problem.

Thanks @"KristianS"#p6106, I'm not sure it's the temperature causing my problem anymore though. I left things alone over the last couple of nights (as they've been warmer) and still no joy. Having looked back through the logs, the lowest temperature my battery has recorded is 11c, which shouldn't be causing an issue. I might some charge slots with hold turned off to see if that works (it has previously). Although if it does, I'm not sure where that leaves me...

This is very similar behaviour to that that i have reported this morning - weird things happening when hold it part of the equation.

I have been having the same problems. Looking back it has been going on for over a month. And it cannot be explained by low temperatures. - last night didn’t go below 7°. See thread ‘Growatt Inverter errors’. terrible-guidance

A quick update: - Last night I set a charge window with hold turned off, and it charged successfully. What I'm totally baffled by, is that when I have an afternoon charge window set (with hold turned on) it seems to work fine?! Thinking about what useful data I could gather, would setting two overnight charge windows (say 22:00-02:00 and 02:00-06:00) the first with hold turned on, and the second with hold turned off help with troubleshooting?

@"merlinsnotin"#p6164 We have fixed a bug where Agile start window with a charge slot start could end up in Hold instruction being sent after charge slot start.

admin I spent several days pinging the Growatt dongle, waking in the middle of the night to check the api was alive and generally monitoring. At the end of this, the problem has gone away, even though I have actually changed nothing.

For now, I will lay the blame with the Growatt servers.
