Hello, I'm trialling WW at the moment and it seems to be near perfect for what I'm after, but I'm having one issue, so wanted to check if it's me missing something obvious in the settings, or a known bug.

Setup is GE 5kw Hybrid inverter (gen 2) and 2x9.5kwh GE batteries (gen 2). We also have a Zappi and an Eddi from myenergi for car charging and solar divert to hot water.

I'm trying WW for 2 reasons:
1) To manage exporting from our batteries at the end of the day, via conditional schedules
2) Automatically charging the batteries when the EV is making use of an 'extra' charge slot during the day outside the usual off peak window.

The first goal is working flawlessly and is saving me so much time in an evening, micromanaging the batteries and waiting for the moment to flip the switch on export, so no complaints there.

The second goal is where I'm having troubles. On days when I work from home, I leave the car plugged in, with an IOG schedule set for what I need the next day. Often Octopus will give me a couple of slots during the day towards the charge, WW is working perfectly to switch the batteries to charge when this happens which is great. However, where it goes wrong is if I need the car during these slots, I unplug, go out, come back and find that the batteries have continued to charge. Should WW be stopping the charge to prevent them filling up on peak rate?

Hopefully this is just something I'm missing in settings?

One feature request would be control over the eddi/solar diverter to prevent accidental export into the hotwater rather than grid, I still have to remember to turn that off before the exporting begins. Then the whole thing would be automated and WW would be the one solution to rule them all!

arronshields Should WW be stopping the charge to prevent them filling up on peak rate?

We do stop, but only at the 00/30 min on the hour. As you will get billed off-peak for the remaining part of the current 30 min block.

We used to stop as soon as (or very shortly after) users unplug and there's no mapped charges anymore, but feature requests to complete the 30 min block were implemented and that means your solar battery can still charge for the remainder of the 30 min slot.

    Hope that makes sense!

arronshields octopus only bill in half hour slots, so even if you EV only smart charges for 1 minute in any given half hour, the whole 30 mins is at the cheap rate.

For your Eddi, the normal way of dealing with this is to set the export margin higher than your inverter/export limit. You need to do this in the master device, whether that's the Eddi or Zappi.

admin ah! Ok, got it. That makes sense, I gave it 15 minutes to stop and intervened. I shall trust the system next time!
