  • Hi Just connected to Wonder Watt - couple o questions

Hi All,

Just registered on the Wonder Watt website to help control usage of our system.
Go 3x Growatt AXE 5.0L Modular Battries, I'll presume they're all 5 kWh batteries,as that's what's I'd registered.

Couple of questions please,

  • What if don't know what our average power usage is for the "Daily electricity usage (minus off-peak EV charging)" section, how would I find this out please?
  • For this section"Solar panel details" what if we have panels on the East & West facing roof, do I select South facing as that also gets sunlight all day?

You should be able to have an idea from the Growatt Shinephone app and see what your consumption is each day. Just a rough estimate will work. Most medium households hover around the 10-15kWh or so. Roughly. Also depends on time of year ofcourse.

Just combine the East/West output let's say 3+3 = 6kW, and reduce by 1kW or so and specify 5kW pv for South facing. Should get you close enough to a daily estimate. You can then slighly tweak as you see the estimates come in. Though be aware this is a rough indicator.

I've got a slightly uneven E/W array, total 7.8kWp, and have found setting the "Solar Capacity" to approx 75% of the actual gives pretty good results for summer.
Winter is just a complete guess anyway.

Which tariff are you on? How much solar? What's your inverter limit? What's your export limit?
All of these may affect your strategy as to best utilising your solar.
