Quick charge settings

I have a scheduled charge today from 9am to 5pm. I just tried a quick discharge for 1 hour which WW set everything up correctly but the charge continued. It looks like my inverter also needs charge enable to be toggled off as it seems to override timed export enable. I've done it manually for the time being but should quick settings discharge also have turned off charge enable (and put it back on at the end of the quick settings period)?

admin I don't normally overlap charge slots and export schedules so don't hit this problem. It is just that if I use the quick settings in the GE app it overrides the schedules and works although I can't set a timer. In WW the quick discharge didn't work as it didn't turn off the AC charge enable flag. But if it did do that it needs to put it back on again after the end of the quick setting time.

In the log below I manually toggled the AC charge enable to make it work.

This is a feature I would use on poor solar days when Agile is very cheap like today . I set the charge to be on all day then select a quick export if the solar levels look low enough during that charge window to dump a bit of charge and then recharge cheaply again from the grid. Only works if my solar array is producing less than the charge power and house power combined (so that I do actually import a bit). That was the case at 11.30am today when I exported 3kWh from the battery at 16.5p and then imported another 3kWh at almost no cost net gain 50p.

WindyMiller Understood. I wonder if there's any reason not to simply disable it for Giv exports, and set it back at the end.

Can't see it affecting other Giv inverters/fw combos for Export? Famous last words though, eh...

You could make it another advanced setting like the ones affecting the ECO flag. I think it effectively makes export have priority over charge whereas the GE inverter has it the other way round.

I've just checked the other apps to see what they do for quick settings.

When the battery is charging at full rate under the WW schedule, pressing the battery- button on the GE app clears Charge Enable, sets charge times to 0:00-0:00, sets the Discharge Enable and sets the discharge times to 0:00-23:59. Battery started discharging at full rate. Then pressing the play button on the app restores all the previous settings thus resuming the WW charge. So the GE app is recording the state of the inverter when you use its Quick Settings.

The BBC basic app on the iPhone clears the Charge Enable, doesn't touch the charge times, sets Discharge Enable and sets discharge timer1 to 0:00-23:71 and timer2 to 0:24-0:02. Battery started discharging at full rate. Pressing play sets the Charge Enable, clears the Discharge Enable, sets both discharge timers to 0.00-0:00 thus resuming the WW charge. Apart from the mis-calculations for the timers the Quick Settings worked here too.

I can't do the same with Android Monitor for Inverter unless I pay the premium which is not necessary for me as WW does such a good job.

Note that the iPhone app talks directly to the inverter whereas the GE app uses the portal API.

So for the WW quick schedule to work I think you just need to clear Charge Enable, set Discharge Enable and set the timers when using the discharge quick setting on the home page and, at the end, set Charge Enable and clear Discharge Enable.
