Understood, however, you don't want to become like a number of other software vendors who have a section on their Changelog file that reads "Known Issues" for problems they cannot be bothered to fix. That is not how you grow your customer base and I guess you already know that. I do know a thing or two about designing software systems as I owned a sizeable software company that I ran for over 30 years before I retired. So why don't I write my own software or use HA etc? well for me that's like being back at work I've done with all that.
I chose your system because the support is second to none, you listen to your users and have a very very good system. I realise that it is infuriating when the issues are being caused by a 3rd party system which you have no control over. I will continue to push GE to get this fixed but getting them to do anything these days is to say the least is hopeless. I have been waiting to hear when GE expect to be releasing a new version of the EV firmware. I have enquired every week since March but no answer is forthcoming. So I lost patience with that and I had another EV charger make installed today, hence my lack of speed replying to your last post.
I suspect that like the WhatsApp messaging addition that you implemented recently (can be used for many things in the future) A retry in x minutes if all else fails feature if designed correctly, could be quickly used for other error types. New errors like the GE parsing error, will no doubt present themselves as time goes by in the future, these could then be easily trapped and sent for later retry also. Often the effort you put into the bedrock design of the system pays huge dividends later down the road.
As it stands whether or not my eight nightly schedules execute or not is currently a lottery. I need it to run every night like clockwork (which to be fair it did up to the 19th September) I don't want to ditch WW and ask for a refund. So how much is it going to cost me for you to make the modification?
