SOC measurement

Hi.
For an agile charge window, Is the SOC condition tested only at the start of the entire charge window, or is it tested at each slot? My guess is the former but wanted to check

matlynd Hi Mat - your assumption is correct, it's tested at the beginning only of a condensed charge slot (which may span multiple half hour charge slots).

Thanks for confirming. Then I have a feature request for you. I'd love the option to check the SOC for each slot in a window against the desired SOC start condition.

This would cover the following scenario:

Charge window 00:00 to 07:00
5 slots required (00:00, 00:30, 04:00, 04:30, 05:00 auto selected)
SOC start condition 100%

Battery at 70%
Starts charging at 00:00
By 00:45 SOC is 100%
Power is drawn from the battery between 02:00 and 03:00 leaving battery with SOC 60%
Currently battery won't start charging again at 04:00 slot as SOC condition isn't checked. It'd be great if it could start again so by the end of the last charge slot I'm back up 100%

Hold charge covers this to some extent but uses the more expensive slots between the 5 selected.

So that's 2 continuous condensed charge slots. One covering 00:00-01:00 (endtime), and one 04:00-5:30.

The condition is checked at the start of each condensed charge block inside your agile charge window, so this scenario is taken care of in your example.

Ahh OK. So if all 5 slots were separate within the charging window then it would check the SOC 5 times?

matlynd Yep, if they were all not adjacent to another 30 min charge slot, each of the 5 charge slots would be evaluated at the start against the SOC less than condition.
