I've been with Axle for about 3 months and it's a great service. I'm also on IOG, WW and Axle works seamlessly.
I was on a train to Manchester when I tried to check my inverter via the GE app and saw the upgrade notice. Emails from GE are still going into my junk folder so hadn't known about this change. Anyway I was able to upgrade the app then go via my Axle account to link it up with GE and it all worked seamlessly. I'm now in Manchester with full cloud access to my Inverter. Very happy. Axle is highly recommended but obviously it seems that any bonus sign up links to Axle won't work - which makes absolute sense when you think about it!

Looks as if GE software team have delivered an amateur performance as expected. NO testing, poor UI, Network errors, Quick settings are gone from the app as are many other features. Too many issues to write about here. VERY VERY DIissapointing. AM I surprised No. Do I want to pay them Hell No.

I’m obviously considering subscribing to Axle, but am wondering whether I should do the GE Software Premium upgrade first. What’s the best order of tasks??

GeeCee it's a good question, possibly follow the link in the portal pricing screen list to the Axle service.

I have just seen a number of different posts on numerous GE forum threads created today,from users reporting that after upgrading to premium by either Axle or subscription, worked for an hour then reset and are now being asked to subscribe once again. NOT GOOD

GeeCee If you do the sign up to Axle first, then you will get the GivEnergy Premium service when you register (re-register - if you registered before the 8th May 2026) and they will activate your GE Premium..... which is a bit of a glib statement in itself. The new app experience is anything but Premium but I only want it for the API anyway. I am done with their low-quality user experience.

I’ve decided to go slowly. I’ll monitor how things go for the next 30days; I really don’t want Axle complicating my WW schedules which I change dynamically occasionally; but I can be persuaded to join - depending on this wonderful community’s experience. So I’ve joined Premium and will see how my free 30days go.

I used my Perplexity Pro subscription to help me make my decision based on my use case.

KristianS Thanks for that, for the moment I've decided on a step-by-step transition, as I don't want to have Axle messing with my scheduling which I've setup with WW.

Perhaps I'm the exception (as a user) in that I'm not that concerned about export to the grid; my usage and scheduling is geared towards maximising battery use and minimising grid import. when I see how others have found the Axle/WW working together (or not) then I may join - but I now have 29days to see how Premium works before I pay anything. In the scheme of things, the less complications I have to deal with (at my age) the better 😊

I'm assuming that the offer to pay the Premium subscription will remain on the table for at least the next 29days 😏

Oh.... I lost access again this morning... so was wondering what is going on. Then I realised that I have two different emails - one for GivEnergy and one for Axle. It would appear, that they are still clearing out accounts where they think you do not have premium. I have changed my GivEnergy account email address to be the same as my Axle one.... Hopefully that will stop them authenticating my account.
I did have to re-go through the authorisation process, which is not obvious on the Axle page.

I will update tomorrow whether this has fixed my particular issue with non-premium coming up everywhere

Same here except that I have the same email address for both accounts. I lost access yesterday, signed up to Axle, got access via cloud immediately on the app.
However, this morning, the GE app had updated and would only connect locally. I reconnected via Axle (and got a Welcome Back message) and cloud access in the app was restored.

GeeCee Axle doesn't iinterfere with WW, in fact WW makes it easier to prepare for grid events. I earn £5 every time I export and now Axle covers my GE subscription... nothing to lose

I see GE offer a Smart Schedule feature... looks a bit basic compared to WW

amackayj My only caveat to agreeing with you would be if there is a possibility that the schedules would collide.... which they could feasibly during a Grid Event. And it is the last one set that wins.... So, if you had an Export event coming up with Axle, and a Charge Event coming up with WW - it can be a thing, then you might start Exporting via the Axle event, then WW may come along and set your Import schedule, then you would actually start Charging as soon as the instructions were sent.....
I do disable my Schedules if an Axle Grid event is inbound. So that I don't get any seesawing from my Inverter.

I am not sure what I am going to do about gaining access to the GE API after the 7 day grace period ends. Having seen the state of the new APP and the pathetic email replies that I have received from GE Software (see above), I feel like I just don't want to pay for it, or more to the point pay GE for it. It's not the money aspect which I can well afford, its the principle of the thing.

That leaves two feasible options use Axle, which I don't really want to do, because I don't want to be tiding up after each session, which is a common problem reported over on GE forums, ECO being left off etc. Even Axles own FAQ lists the problem and the solution. I am here on WW because I can run automatically 24/7 without intervention. Also if you read the Axel T&C's, Axel have the right to use and share your personal contact information, your personal usage data and, if you have an EV they sell data related to your weight and journeys that you take.

The final option is if WW gets an API agreement with GE, though I asked @admin the question yesterday (above), what the intention is regarding this, but it would seem that we are in "head in the sand mode" at the moment.

So there we have it 6 days left tick tock.

duplada I am working with Axle on a potential fix for not only the scheduling problems, but also the Eco left to Off after an event.... Stand by.... Awaiting feedback from one of the Axle engineers on this.

We’ll get in touch with GE and see if they consider just API access subscription tier as an option. We’ll post the response here once we have it.

KristianS Keep us updated on the fix with Axle. As without it, it's more trouble than it's worth.
