Last Friday afternoon I contacted Axle support and asked them the following Questions.
- Can I control my own schedules once and event is announced ( rather than using Axle automation)?
- When sending commands in normal Automation mode, is a power command sent?
- How are they addressing the numerous reports of Eco not being rest correctly after an event.?
Today Monday morning they replied as follows.
Manual scheduling: Yes, you're welcome to schedule the export yourself during event windows rather than rely on our remote control. As long as your battery exports during the event, we'll compensate you at £1/kWh based on the readings. We announce events the day before via email, so you'll have time to set your own schedule.
What we send: During a remote-controlled event we send explicit commands to the inverter (mode change plus a discharge/export instruction) rather than relying on whatever it happens to be set to. We aim to export at the inverter's maximum sustainable rate within manufacturer limits.
Settings revert: For GivEnergy, if settings ever don't revert cleanly, they can almost always be fixed in the GivEnergy portal (givenergy.cloud) by hitting the refresh icon next to each setting and re-saving your normal mode/schedule, no power cycle needed.
Hope that helps!

So that is positive news if you want to perform your own scheduling "which I would" you can of course set an export rate which suits you depending on daily load, and being able to schedule the event through WW would mean that things will get reset properly.
So all in all a very good email for those subscribing to axle and want to do your thing, just delete there access in the GE portal and schedule in WW when you receive an event email.
So the current WW users DO NOT need to cancel their WW subscriptions for fear of conflicts, you can stay in full control, that will be music to the ears of @admin 😁
