GivEnergy AIO Export not cancelled after SOC reached

Tried my first scheduled export today for the Octopus Peak period (4pm-7pm). Export triggered as expected, but once my reserve SOC of 50% was reached after 30 mins, the battery export stopped but it did not revert the settings. It therefore started drawing back from the grid at more expensive rate than what I'd just sold it for! Had to revert the settings back myself manually to stop this continuing, which defeats the objective of an automation. It would have been costly buying it back a lot more expensive than what I'd just sold it at.

nbullus Yeah, thanks for raising it, this has come up before, and we'll get a fix out for this either this weekend or early next week.

admin Perfect. I think it should at least be a user option to either 1) cancel export when SOC reached or end time reached (whichever happens first), or 2) continue to export for the remainder of the export period. Not sure if there would be a benefit for anyone running option 2), but wouldn't benefit anyone using the Octopus Flux tariff. I'll make a note to stop this and run manually until you roll something out. Thanks for fast response.

nbullus Yeah, fair points.

Ideally, we spread out the discharge over the period specified by adjusting the charge rate as we have for charge slots and that is in the works, but we need to ensure we do this for Growatt too, and will need some more testing before rollout.

In the interim though, for Giv, I think option 1) to cancel (and reset to eco mode) once SOC reached (or to within a percentage point or two) might be the best way to go.

I agree an adjusted discharge rate would benefit both Growatt and GivEnergy customers. Long term it would be nice to have the two options for GivEnergy otherwise this may introduce other issues:
1) Adjusted discharge rate for export over whole period
2) Maximum discharge rate and then cancel export
Option 1 suits everyone but has the disadvantage that if the discharge rate is too low and their is a peak home demand greater than the reduced discharge rate, it will still need to pull from the grid to meet that demand. Therefore thought needs to be made on expected demand to ensure sufficient discharge rate to export and meet home demand. Option 2 would help high demand customers who need to keep the discharge rate at maximum to avoid the grid pull at peak times.
Certainly food for thought as the time of use tariff may also have a bearing on the design to get the right balance and give flexibility for most scenarios.
