Battery balancing

We’re thinking about adding another battery but givenergy point out that they are not compatible and will cross charge and discharge (poor efficiency possibly very poor, all going to heat). So the answer is advanced Home Assistant (beyond me) or givenergy’s EMS.
But EMS has been on the coming soon list for about 2+years. And frankly although there has been a beta of mk1 the true release looks a long time off. The latest concept is that control will be via the cloud not a box of programmed electronics.
So this starts to look very like the WonderWatt approach.
Have you considered battery balancing for owners of multiple batteries possibly of dissimilar types? As a product enhancement?
Or even better does your system do it already?
Does any current user know the answer because they have multiple batteries?

Guess-watt Not sure about battery balancing tbh, but most systems seem to treat multiple batteries as one unified battery and address them as such, at least from a charging/discharging perspective.

There may well be lower level commands and registers available that you can inspect and control for battery balancing via GivTcp or such, but not AFAIK from the Cloud API.

If things change and you want to do something more, then preventing givenergy’s batteries from swapping charge between each other might be something you want to offer. What I didn’t state above (and should have) is I was talking about an AC3 +9.5kWh battery our present system and we were considering adding an AIO plus gateway, (to get higher output capacity as well as more storage). I understand that multiple AC3 inverter plus battery can also cross charge (from posts elsewhere.)
