Interesting..my charge window didn't close this morning. Charge periods of 2.30am to 5.30am were still in the schedule when I looked just now and the battery discharge was set to zero. Manually changed it back to normal now. WW ID: functional-estate.
Window didn't close
You're welcome and thanks!
Possibly a similar issue. After my charge slots have been skipped because the battery is at 100% the house consumption gets fed from the grid not the battery even though ECO is showing enabled. The timed charge setting on the inverter is still showing as enabled but with times 0:00 to 0:00. Manually turning off the timed charge stops the issue and energy is drawn from the battery. Have I got a setting wrong somewhere . Thank you .

NickW Sounds like a different issue. We don't turn AC charge flag off.
Other users reported then seeing only Solar in the Giv App as charge mode, rather than Grid+Solar. So our mechanism to effectively disabling the charge slots is to set the times to 00:00-00:00. Seems to work for other Giv users.
So why does changing the time for the charge slot to 00:00-00:00 not work for you?
Unless this were to be a recent update and is seen as a full 24 hr window?
Can anyone else with a Giv system check and validate this please?
Yesterday's fix worked for me.
Can I ask do you both have any Giv automations on. I unticked them leaving it to WW. If I have the smart tariff > solar and battery selected would that make a difference. ? Thanks all for your help
I had a similar issue 2 nights ago. The charge limit was set to 100% from 00:00 - 05:00. When 100% charge was met at about 02:30 the battery started to discharge from about 02:30 - 5:00. Last night it was set to 96% charge and once met continued to use power from the grid for our house until 05:00. I assumed it was an issue with Giv deciding that when you reached 100% for the battery it would stop charging.

Below is my Giv Log. Note that the 96% charge limit occured because I set "AC Charge 1 Upper SOC % Limit" to 96% from the app. There is another issue I am looking at that the Max charge is using AC Charge 1 rather than AC Charge Uppper % Limit. I set AC Charge to 100% the previous night but left the WW schedule the same.

Sorry the 18th doesn't show the line clearly, but does show the charge at 96% at 04:45.
The activity logs from WW are the same, but I did change the AC Charge 1 Upper SOC % Limit from 100% to 96% at 19:11 on the 17th which was the only difference between the 2 night.
Happened again last night had 5 slots scheduled in the Agile Octopus integration from 2.30 till 4.00 then 4.30 till 05.30. Check this morning at 6.24 and found battery holding charge and importing from the grid . Manually turned off the Timed charge setting in Giv App and then draws from the battery and not the grid. I cannot see anything odd in the activity log in WW or in the Giv log

Any ideas where I might be going wrong ?

NickW Maybe we need to disable AC charge (which is something we used to do before). But the side-effect is that people may not expect that. Especially the ones for which this is currently working fine as is.
It means the battery charge mode changes from 'Solar+Grid' to 'Solar' only. Which had users panicking before.
How about asking on the Giv forums what is going on? Happy to jump on there too. It sounds like some inconsistent behaviour between Giv inverters.

admin I have been searching the GiVEnergy forums and have come across this suggestion as to the way the Giv inverter and Battery work by daveharding100 who seems very knowledgeable.
"When forced charging ends because the Charge Period has ended, the system reverts to its default state.
If forced charging ends because Battery Charge has hit a limit, the system enters one of two modes:
Grid = Load Mode, if Battery Charge < Upper SOC % Limit
Battery Idle Mode, if Battery Charge = Upper SOC % Limit work ."
My battery seems to go into idle mode because the Battery Charge = Upper SOC limit % could this be the cause of my issue ? . I am going to try an follow dave's suggestions for settings to see if I have something wrong.
I use the iPhone Giv App but mainly The Giv Web Ui because I understand that the App can be a bit flaky and I cannot see System Modes only Inverter settings. Maybe a stupid question I have looked round including the remote control area and cannot see anything that refers to Solar + grid etc, where is it ? . The only similar option is under the Smart Tariff menu on the App. I have "Stop Automations" selected as I am using WW rather than selecting "solar & battery" under the GIV App > Smart Tariff. Is that correct ?
Go to the cog at the top rhs of the app home screen and charge mode is shown there
