I see. I'm happy on flux atm, but if I was to try this later, what I'm trying to ask is I am able to get the intelligent Go tariff from Octopus? I ask because as far as I understand it, they require a car or a charger they can control or you can't get the tariff. e.g a tesla as they can control the charging on the car, or compatible charger. Is this agreed with octopus to be able to use the WW-tariff with a non-compliant car or charger?

We simply check the dynamic charge slots that Octopus has assigned to your Octopus account. If you haven't got Octopus Intelligent Go, we won't retrieve any smart charge slots from Octopus when we query your account.

Hi there, impassioned-spirit First usage of IOG last night by plugging my car in and I don't think it quite went to plan! :) [URL=https://i.imgur.com/5qtopBZ.png][IMG]https://i.imgur.com/5qtopBZh.png[/IMG][/URL] So at first it picked up my smart charge of 23:30 - 06:30 and had a target of 86% at a rate of 33%, which is fine. It then, from somewhere, picked three more half hour blocks and mapped those. The problem is that in between those half hour blocks, the battery was discharged to power the house. This is not only in contradiction to the proper mapped charge but was unnecessary anyway as IOG always has off-peak rates between 23:30 and 05:30 - in fact of course the battery should still have been charging from the grid due to the dismal forecast. I don't know what happened with those additional blocks but if I check my Octopus app, those blocks are shown there right now too, so WW hasn't pulled them out of nowhere. I do know that in reality Octopus was charging my car as per the original mapped charge of 11:30 - 06:30 and this didn't get interrupted. One thing I recall, yesterday when I plugged my car in, the charge target was just 10% additional, and I _think_ it's possible that the original smart charge schedule was these three blocks. I subsequently changed the charge target to be 60% additional, and it mapped the new proper schedule. I wonder if both sets of instructions were still in the API? Is there something you need to be checking to know whether you have the latest schedule? In any case would it be possible to configure WW so that it always "knows" about the basic 23:30 - 05:30 off peak, and only does something with smart charges in addition to that? Love that you're doing this by the way, please don't take any of this as a moan!

Just a quick note, everything on the IOG beta seems to be working for me, will try plugging the car in this morning to see if it works with the morning slots I usually get if I do that..

Great to hear it automatically gives you the cheap night slots even if you don't plug your car in, I'll remove it from the growatt app to avoid any conflicts. Might be worth mentioning this functionality in the wonderwatt app and maybe an option to turn it on/off?

Last night I thought I was connected to Intelligent Octopus Go. My battery was not charged at all.

I do have a problem with Octopus that my car dos not have controlled charging by Octopus even though I was connected a few months ago. I am waiting for them to respond, however I thought the 23:30 to 05:30 would still charge

So my situation is I would like to discharge battery (9.5) before 23:30 IOG slot, charge battery to 100%, discharge battery say between 01:00-03:00 and then recharge battery to 100% from 03:00-05:30. Maximising fixed O export. However if I have the IOG WW active by having the export sessions overnight the Eco is turned off. Is there any automated way of doing this, or just switching off the IOG WW for overnight?

DW2002 Yeah, if you want to export during that slot, you're better off switching IOG off for your overnight default window.

2) When there's an IOG cheap slot during the day, I'd like to charge the battery as fast as possible (or at least not slowly), as it's never certain when the car will stop charging, because it's full.
3) I had Octopus give me a cheap slot at 06:30 one morning. The car had already fully charged overnight, but the battery still charged. As I understand it, as the car wasn't charging, we won't have been given a cheap price during this window, so it cost a lot to charge the battery.
4) A separate issue but the Solar forecast is often wrong. Solcast seems more accurate. Same settings.

If there is no mapped slot from Octopus at around 23:00 or so, WW automatically creates a 23:30-05:30 slot for you.

OK, so you can just toggle off the 'Adjust charge rate' setting, right?

I don't think this is conditional on whether your car is charged or not. Any IOG slot you get assigned means you get the cheaper rate during that slot, even for battery or house load. Happy for others to chime in here too.

We will soon be collecting user's daily PV output, with the aim to correct for each user once we have enough data.

It's important to take into account that it's not really there to be incredibly accurate, it needs to be good enough, so it catches really dull days and equally, the really sunny ones.

Not sure their answer makes sense. Example:

You plug your car in and get a charge block mapped from 10:30-12:00.

Your EV charges and hits 100% by 11:05. At a minimum, the smart meter only sends half hour usage blocks, so they can't charge you full price for 11:00-11:30.

But, unless the mapped charge (10:30-12:00) actually disappears from the mapped IOG slots, I have some doubts about their explanation.

Specifically, around the point where once your car hits the charge cap you set, there will be a remainder of the assigned slot(s) that are charged at full price?

If that is the case, I'm not sure how we can support IOG. Not on IOG myself, so can't try this out.

Unless we can query the vehicle(s) SOC via the Octopus API.

If your time slot is 10:30 until 12:00 and the car remains plugged in, you will be charged cheaper rate for this time slot ....100% Guaranteed!

Still having issues. Octopus assigned a slot last night ending at 5am. Battery charged until then. Between that and the end of the cheap overnight rate ending at 5-30am the battery was heavily discharged as I boost our immersion heater on the cheap rate. I want the battery set to charge for the full 6 hours of cheap rate, regardless if what Octopus are doing with the car during that time. I still think the easiest way to to this is to allow a manual schedule to override any IOG slots.
Additionally at 6am the battery charged as Octopus had allocated a slot, but the EV was full before then, so again it charged at peak rate. Sorry - I know you're working on this.
I'm thinking if it's not possible to calculate which slots will actually be cheap rate then configuring WW to just pause the battery is the best compromise during IOG slots. But I still need it charged overnight!!
You're doing fantastic work. So much easier than trying to use Home Assistant. We'll help you produce a great product in the end!! Then you can charge for it.

PANface Yes, I just got my bill, and it does look like I'm getting cheap rates even when the car's not charging. Which contradicts Octopus Energy on twitter.
So just need to sort out overnight charging, and things will be great.
