@"Gazzagreen"#p3146 I'm in the beta if you can you have the tariff I believe it will work as its pulling from the Octopus API and controlling your inverter so has nothing to do with the car or charger. It's found my slots first time so really impressive.

I see. I'm happy on flux atm, but if I was to try this later, what I'm trying to ask is I am able to get the intelligent Go tariff from Octopus? I ask because as far as I understand it, they require a car or a charger they can control or you can't get the tariff. e.g a tesla as they can control the charging on the car, or compatible charger. Is this agreed with octopus to be able to use the WW-tariff with a non-compliant car or charger?

@"Gazzagreen"#p3151 Without a compatible EV - for which they will perform a test charge, I don't think you can get OIG. We simply check the dynamic charge slots that Octopus has assigned to your Octopus account. If you haven't got Octopus Intelligent Go, we won't retrieve any smart charge slots from Octopus when we query your account.

Hi there, impassioned-spirit First usage of IOG last night by plugging my car in and I don't think it quite went to plan! :) [URL=https://i.imgur.com/5qtopBZ.png][IMG]https://i.imgur.com/5qtopBZh.png[/IMG][/URL] So at first it picked up my smart charge of 23:30 - 06:30 and had a target of 86% at a rate of 33%, which is fine. It then, from somewhere, picked three more half hour blocks and mapped those. The problem is that in between those half hour blocks, the battery was discharged to power the house. This is not only in contradiction to the proper mapped charge but was unnecessary anyway as IOG always has off-peak rates between 23:30 and 05:30 - in fact of course the battery should still have been charging from the grid due to the dismal forecast. I don't know what happened with those additional blocks but if I check my Octopus app, those blocks are shown there right now too, so WW hasn't pulled them out of nowhere. I do know that in reality Octopus was charging my car as per the original mapped charge of 11:30 - 06:30 and this didn't get interrupted. One thing I recall, yesterday when I plugged my car in, the charge target was just 10% additional, and I _think_ it's possible that the original smart charge schedule was these three blocks. I subsequently changed the charge target to be 60% additional, and it mapped the new proper schedule. I wonder if both sets of instructions were still in the API? Is there something you need to be checking to know whether you have the latest schedule? In any case would it be possible to configure WW so that it always "knows" about the basic 23:30 - 05:30 off peak, and only does something with smart charges in addition to that? Love that you're doing this by the way, please don't take any of this as a moan!

PANface Yes, I just got my bill, and it does look like I'm getting cheap rates even when the car's not charging. Which contradicts Octopus Energy on twitter.
So just need to sort out overnight charging, and things will be great.

I am really interested in moving from Agile back onto Intelligent Go now that I have a battery installed but am not sure how it is supposed to work really?

You get your six hours cheap rate between 23:30 and 5:30 every night and that is fixed, regardless if you plug your car in or not. You also get seemingly ad-hoc additional slots of cheap rate IF you plug your car in and leave it plugged in?

Or do they issue these ad-hoc slots anyway regardless if the car is plugged in or not? They just control when the car charges remotely?

The main part I am confused about is if they publish the daily rates the day before or something like they do on Agile so you can kind of plan for the day ahead or do you just have to fly by the seems of your pants with it?

It would be great for me if the battery can top itself up during the ad-hoc slots in addition to the fixed six hours at night.

I have mine setup as in the screen shot.

I have battery and no solar so my aim is to charge my battery to 100% by 5:30 then run the house on it until its empty. I would also like to top it up during any of the extra charge slots IOG might assign during the day. Do I have the correct expectation?

Note: My battery can't discharge into the car as it does not see it due to how it was wired up during installation so that is not a worry for me.

I've had to disable IOG with Wonder Watt - the battery keeps discharging during the 23:30 to 5:30 slot when Octopus also allocate slots during that period.
Let me know if WW is changed to prevent this, and I'll turn it back on. I still think having any manual WW schedules override IOG scheduling would be best.

brobins Yeah looks fine. Though if you specify a minimum of 100% SOC target, you may as well turn 'Smart Charging' off, as effectively you are using a Fixed SOC target.

admin I think it's because it's cheaper for Octopus to charge the EV during those slots. They need to make money somehow!

Will the battery actually begin charging at 23:30 to take advantage of the cheap rate or will it simply charge between 1:00 - 6:00?

admin the past couple of days I have had extra slots mapped between 1100-1200 even though my car is not plugged in. Can I assume that these are random extra slots as I am concerned my battery is being charged at peak rates. Ideally I would prefer the battery to be charged by solar during the day.

brobins At the moment, it will just use the assigned slot as Octopus have mapped for you, but we're working on a better way to honour the default IOG period too.

Although, if you don't plug your car in and have no mapped IOG slots planned, we will populate the 23:30-5:30 slot at around 23:00.

I am reading a lot about plugging the EV in at say 9:30 in order to get some mapped slots during the day. I will test this tomorrow to see if its possible to get a few mapped slots in the day to boost the battery up.
