I believe there is a significant ongoing problem with the Growatt Server.
If the ShinePhone App, receives current data from the Growatt server it works perfectly, as does WonderWatt.
During a fault episode, the graphical representation on the both the Dashboard and Plant screens shows no data. If you compare the attached screen shots (one normal, one faulty) you will see what I mean, with the inverter shown as being offline (which it isn't) in the faulty case. The inverter is connected solidly to the Ethernet via a ShineLan adaptor.
The same thing is true if you access the Growatt server on the web, it exhibits the same issue. Third party Apps that log into the Growatt server (such as WonderWatt) also exhibit exactly the same problem.
The issue I believe is simply that the server, at apparently random intervals, simply states that the inverter is off-line, which it isn't, and the App or the Web displays old data (often hours old) and states the battery SOC is 0% which it isn't.
I believe there is a significant issue with the Growatt server, it either cannot handle the number of concurrent connections required, or cannot handle the transaction volume, has insufficient resources available, has a programming fault or connectivity issue.
I am far from being the only user who has this problem, the various Growatt forums, and others, are full of complaints etc.
I have raised the problem with Growatt at service@ginverter.com.
I would appreciate comments from other users.
All the best Colin
