I had this message in the activity log. "Error setting charge schedule: There was no response from comms. Please try again [UENMPXYo]" Unfortunately this, overnight, charge was not attempted again, resulting in an empty battery.
Is that what you expect or should there have been a retry??

Looks like an GivEnergy comms issue, we get that error message straight back from their API.

Many thanks. Those messages didn't show in the Wonder watt Log.
Givenergy glitch! I have had it once before when it didn't matter. This one was potentially expensive.

I have had this happen twice this week something that I have never had a problem with before, what does no response from comms mean, is it a problem at givenegy end or could it be my inverter dropping off line in the night that I don't notice it. If it's a case that it is my inverter dropping off for a few minutes could there be a retry sent after say 15 minutes rather than just immediately after giving the inverter time to come back online . thought I would ask thanks Lawrence

Losing It really is just an error that is returned from Giv's end yeah.

The issue with arbitrary retries like 15 mins or so is that it sounds easy but leads to unnecessary load and retrying when perhaps we shouldn't. And what if the 15 min retry fails? Retry again? Etc.

The retry policy was changed last year to (I think) 2 seconds, 8 seconds and 24 seconds (3 retries) which gives a total of nearly a minute for the inverter to be offline. For me this was a significant improvement where I think it completely dealt with the problem of inverter timeout errors. I do occasionally get the "no response from comms" message and I think this is where the GE server has gone away for a long time. This really is for GE to solve but they're not good as sorting out marginal errors like this when they still have some major issues to get right. I am pleased though that the latest battery/inverter software update seems to be a marked improvement at keeping my two batteries in sync with each other during charge and discharge.
