I am currently evaluating Wonder Watt and came across the Inverter and Battery Settings in the advanced section. In the Advanced section of Wonder watt you have a Max Inverter Rate (Charge/Discharge) and Max Battery Rate Charge/Discharge setting that you can record. Why can't you record separate values for both Charge and Discharge for Inverter and Battery rates as they can be different. My GE inverters combined Dual AIO power is 12kWh in 12kWh out. However, I have a DNO limitation Outgoing of 9.5kWh. So it occurred to me that in Wonder Watt it would be better to record both Charge and Discharge Rates and not assume one size fits all. It also occurred to me that users may want to charge / discharge more rapidly or slowly depending on a given situation. Therefore in the section where you can create schedules it would be useful if you could optionally enter charge / Discharge Rates for each schedule that you are creating. One thing to note is that if like me you have a GE dual AIO setup then when Wonder watt sends the Battery Discharge Power = xxxx command to my system this command Does Not Work. However, the Discharge Power Percentage does work. So in settings section a field to record whether the system has dual AIO's would be useful to determine which command to send depending on the system type.

@"admin"#p8275 I don't know if its a bug or not but as I said Watts Value dosn't work Percentage does work on dual AIO's. I have an open support ticket ongoing at the moment on a issue so I will try to find out and let you know. and will you consider being able to specify a Charge / Discharge rate in the scheduler to speed up slow down specific schedules. I have been doing some tests and I get more out of the discharges if I run at around 50% max capacity. I just changed from Agile to Go and I cannot get IOG with the GE Charger and the MG car I own. However, If I could adjust schedule execution speeds I would be prepared to pay for that feature although 90% of Wonder Watt wouldn't be any use to me.

@"admin"#p8275 If I explain a little bit more why being able to set a charge rate in a schedule is useful. Having a dual AIO system is good if you want to import at 12kWH and is good for sucking up lots of KWh's in a short space of time. However, it can be a curse also. I have the GE EV charger which does not support dual AIO's so All the cloud settings such as "do not drain the batteries" do not work. Therefore if you are on GO like me you start a charge on the batteries at 00:30 and charge the batteries to 100%. Now unless I go into the portal and mess with the Battery Inverter Percentage setting in addition to the Start and End Time settings, the charge will commence at 12kWh, If the EV needs charging I will fire that up which adds another which because we are already charging will take power from the grid rather than the batteries. However this adds another 7.2kWH to the load, so now with the dual AIO's running at full chat along with the EV charger I am one kettle boil away from exceeding the 80amp Gateway Limit. I have done this and the Gateway crashes, shuts down, the house power goes off, and is a nightmare to get up and running again, a full afternoons job. So I would like a schedule called EV Charging Tonight it would run from 00:30 to 05:30 and I would set The Battery Inverter Percentage to 45% this would give enough power / time to fill my batteries from 10 to 100% and give me the headroom to charge the EV without getting anywhere near the Gateway limit. The beauty of this is that all the settings get set back after the schedule completes, something I always forget to do which is always costing me money. So If you can implement this request then I will subscribe just for that feature alone as it will be worth it for me.

@"admin"#p8275 Hi, So I have an answer from Givenergy regarding the Battery Charge Power and Battery Discharge Power command. They are NOT supported on dual AIO systems. The Gateway ignores the command and does not pass it on to the AIO's it's by design and not a software bug. Therefore in your Advanced section of Wonder watt you need to ask the question is you Givenergy battery an AIO. If yes then send the Battery Charge/Discharge Percentage values in your commands instead of the Battery Charge/Discharge Power watts values. So In summary in the Advanced section of Wonder watt Record if their battery is a AIO Users can add Battery Charge/Discharge Value and also Inverter Charge/Discharge Value or Record if the user has an AIO then only record a Battery Charge/Discharge Value Add a option in Schedules to record a per schedule Charge/Discharge value that overrides the advanced value. This gives significant per schedule flexibility to control the charge/discharge rates on a schedule by schedule basis. As I said above if you can implement the above I will instantly subscribe to a full year. As It will mean I only need one utility to control my battery system. Well worth it IMO.

Hi All,
I have away for a couple of weeks - so apologies for lack of an update.
Last night, I put the WW APP into pause and tried to charge my EV and Batteries simultaneously between midnight and 6AM. I selected the charging options through the GE APP. The import was still limited to 12 kW/h (6 kW per half hour Agile slot).
So, in conclusion, I believe that the 12 kW/h limitation is being imposed by GE and not the WW APP.
I have reached out again to GE for support this AM.

Thank you for testing things without the WonderWatt API. Thanks to this I've been able to get some of my colleagues to have a closer look. We have found the grid power limit setting that works separately to the import limit was set to 12kW. I have upped this to 18kW for you.

So In October 2025 I wrote the following.

I know I am like a broken record, but not being able to record an Inverter Discharge Rate, In addition to an Inverter Charge rate is a real pain for me. Unless I am charging my EV and house batteries simultaneously, I run @ full chat 24/7 in and out.

My Inverter Rate and Battery rate are 12kWh in and out, but my DNO Inverter discharge rate is limited to 9.5kWh. I am finding the limited choice in standard scheduling between 100% and Advanced (Settings rates), is a limiting factor, and not being able to record my real Inverter discharge rate for WW to make accurate time adjustments when necessary is a real pain.

Before the fix was put in place for the correct portal command for controlling Inverter / Battery power on dual AIO's I had one of the advanced rates set to 9.5kWh. That worked because the Power Command that got sent to my inverter made no difference, and WW adjusted times accurately when necessary.

So can we get a solution for this sorted please? I am not the only one asking for this feature @KristianS

In November 2025 I wrote

"Any news on Inverter Rate modifications? Seems to be taking a while? I would give anything to be able to specify an Inverter rate in standard schedules, until we either get an Import and Export Inverter Rate in Advanced or In Schedule % rates I cannot run automatically all of the time. I am having to micromanage my Inverter Rate Setting in Advanced multiple times and have to remember to set them back which is a real pain."

So here we are in January 2026 (5 Months Later) still with no Separate Inverter Rate for Export in Advanced settings and still no ability to set a Charge or Discharge percentage in Standard WW schedules, both of these features were promised. Can we have an update when they are likely to appear please. It is really really annoying when features are promised but never appear.

The idea is that this will apply across all charge and discharge schedules. Custom, Agile, IOG etc.

Currently only available to users who have opted-in, so as to not affect anyone else, whilst we're testing this out.

Note that this is an initial implementation. Additional changes may be added to custom schedules too.

Yep - the question is, would those custom rates take precedence over the global rates?

I think intuitively, because these are max rates, we should take the minimum over schedule selected custom rate and global specified Rate lLimit rate.

I have a few thoughts as usual,

Are we still going to get a separate Inverter Rate for Export in Advanced Settings?

My Inverter Rate is set to 12kWh in advanced but my DNO export Rate is 9.5kWh. If I want to charge at full rate 12kWh then I have the Inverter Rate in Advanced settings set to 12kWh. However with the Inverter rate set @12kWh WW makes incorrect calculations for "adjusted" End Times on Export Schedules because of my DNO limit for Export is 9.5kWh but WW thinks I am exporting at @12kWh, there is no way around this unless there is a setting in advanced for both Inverter Charge Rate and Inverter Discharge Rate.

As it stands we have an Inverter rate for each system which is dual purpose both for Charge and Discharge, why not add in Advanced settings a Discharge Inverter Rate (as discussed above). These two rates are then the Maximum Global Rates for both Charge and Discharge. Then In Advanced Settings, allow users to create say 5 Charge and Discharge Rates which can be named similar to this. The Watts will be calculated as a percentage of the Individual Global Charge and Discharge Rates defined in Advanced Settings.

Then in the Scheduler, if the Schedule is a charge Schedule and the user selects "Adjust Charge Rate" the Charge / Discharge Rates Menu would be displayed for the user to Select from as below.

If the Schedule is a Discharge Schedule and the user selects "Use Current Discharge Rate then the user can choose the required rate from the popup menu of available rates.

The system described above would if implemented solve the long standing issue of the missing Inverter Discharge Rate, providing accurate WW calculated adjusted end times and allow user defined Charge / Discharge Rates to be applied to any Charge or Discharge Schedule.

I'd love to see a similar thing for the battery charge/discharge rates.

I have an issue when discharging my GE batteries at their full 3.6kw rate in the summer - in the warmer months I occasionally experience the battery DCMCB tripping because it gets a bit too warm (presumably due to some resistance). I've had the MCB checked on more than one occasion and there are no issues so it's been put down to temperature as reducing the battery rate via the WW settings to 3.4kw seems to have resolved the issue. There's not been the same issue when charging at full rate. My inverter is a 5kw GE hybrid.

A setting a bit like above with two sliding scales for the battery charge/discharge rates would be really useful.
