Check Out this "Classic BBC Look" of the Screen (Inverter APP) Magenta Cyan and all that I miss those simple programs. In fact in the 1970's I learnt to Program in the "Basic Programming Language" on a University Mainframe DEC system. Which was of a timesharing design. (Remote System (because of cost) Shared by Many single terminals) You logged in on a combined keyboard teleprinter. There were NO monitors in those days, all commands you issued at the terminal were sent and then echoed back and printed out on the teleprinter. If you wanted to work on a program you had written in your last session, that was possible by inserting your punch tape (Think Till receipt with holes in it), into the reader, yes Floppy Disks, were a thing of the future, back then, it was Reel to Reel Only (NASA Style). If you have ever been to the Bletchley Park Computer Museum that is exactly what is was like. In fact the first program I wrote was a kids Times Table Cheat Sheet, Enter the Number for the table 1 to 12 and up came all the answers. The fun came when your session was over you would request a save of your program. and then you needed to stand well back, as the tape puncher spewed out 100 metres or so of punched tape. Then if you wanted to debug your software, it involved carting (I mean that) 5 reams of 132 wide tractor fed paper back home via Horseless carriage (the bus) for later analysis, The thing was you could use the printout as a seat in the pub. Back then, 10 bob (50p) got you 4 pints of beer and fish and chips as you staggered about carrying your printout home. Those were the days, endless arguments about the misuse of the GOTO command, rather than the more elegant GoSub and Return. Anyway enough drivel from Me. I think I hear my nurse knocking at the front door, (With my Medication) best check on my (Ring Door Cam) which of course No longer works since the AWS Outage. Oh well things seemed so much simpler in the 1970's than today. Catch you all later.
