Intelligent Octopus Go - limited beta
I had the same problem that drained my battery again. What happened is that I plugged in the car at 02.43am when the schedule was already set. Octopus added slots all the time up to 6.30am and then from 09.30-11.00. What happened though is that the 02.43-6.30 slot got to WW but didn't work. I had it in the activity log but between 5.30 and 6.30 it didn't work and my battery charged the car. Then the 9.30-11.00 slot worked fine. It seems that the 23.30-5.30 had some priority over the 02.00-06.30

angellevski Right, the issue is that the 23:30-05:30 instruction had already been sent and is set on the inverter.
We need to consider how slots that start within the default IOG window and extend are dealt with.
admin great thanks. I had same issue again last night so might be worth looking. Battery was 49% this morning instead of 100%. Car charging ended within the IOG time slot which was until 0400. Battery started draining at 0400 again instead of 0530. Immersion kicked in at 0415 and drained battery.
extraneous-pattern Hopefully should be addressed in Release 694.

Could I join the IOG beta please. Thanks
@admin
Have a minor issue with last night's charging.....
Smart charging from Octopus 23:00-05:30 and 05:30-06:00
WW picked up the slots and initially set 23:00-06:00, but subsequently overwrote with 23:30-05:30
As it turns out, the EV had finished charging at 05:15 anyway, so didn't cause an issue with battery drain, but it would have, had the Octopus EV charge continued.
Could you have a look at this please?
As a sidenote, is there a reason the charge commands are not sent until after the charge period is scheduled to start?

Hello,
Thank you for letting me join WW. My first EV is being delivered next month. Are you still accepting new participants and is it best to wait to join this project until I swap tariffs to IOG?

Thank you

admin Have you fixed this? I got it do the same thing again. This time I plugged the car in the evening before 23.30 and got slots in the night slot plus up to 6.30 in the morning and then 7.00-7.30. I got 23.30-6.30 in WW at 23.32 and then 4.30-6.30 at 4.32 but what happened is that between 5.30 and 6.30 the car was charged by the battery which drained it completely for this hour. Then 7-7.30 worked fine.
angellevski Thanks for the info, yeah, we have put a fix in for this, it looks like there’s still a scenario where a mapped slot can fall within an already started wider slot that should be ignored.
Looks like without the redundant 4:30 instruction, this would have worked fine, right?
admin I guess so yes

admin Just wondered if you'd had a chance to look at the underlapping charge instructions?
Does this fall under the same issue as @angellevski highlighted and, therefore, is it resolved?
MrMessy No they’re different issues. We are adding a bunch of unit tests first to make sure the logic is correct for multiple scenarios.
The main reason we start after the slot time, is because we do need to cater for people plugging in, getting an IOG slot mapped and then WW to pick that up, which would by that time typically start in the past, despite us running that routine every minute.
We will work out a fix and hopefully get it out this week sometime.

OK, so back to the under/overlapping instructions.
I had a smart charging session last night 23:30-05:30, 05:30-06:30 (nope, I don't know why they spilt it as there was definitely no break according to either the GE inverter or the Zappi).
This seemed to be picked up perfectly by WW, as seen here...
... and here .......
However, instructions were then sent at 05:30 to switch charging off .......
....... leaving the battery to drain in to the EV, which was still charging until 06:30 .....
..... until I spotted it when I got up.
Does that give you any more info to go at?
