  • Odd 20% Battery Reserve limit set

In a Timed discharge sequence this morning the Battery Reserve % Limit got set to 20%

I would have expected it to go to 4%. which it tried to do after the Enable ECO

SilverArt This is a side effect of using the disable discharge preset (which includes battery reserve percentage). Which is set for 20% for your schedule so it uses that.

We can change that on a disable discharge schedule to be 4%, but it was actioned successfully seconds after that due to the individual Reserve limit setting, right?

      @SilverArt @admin

I had the same, see my report here: https://community.wonderwatt.com/d/68-battery-discharge-logic-bug-report
I disagree that this is a side effect of using the disable discharge preset. It should not be. In case the logic correctly decides not to discharge it should keep the SOC bottom limit range for the battery as it was set before and as WW actually resets it at the end of each charge window.
Moreover, my usable battery bottom limit % also got reset at 20% and I have not entered 20% anywhere as a value in my settings. I've seen the 20% also previously in the API commands coming in from WW. Example below:

In this example it did not affect me, since it was reset 1 second later back to 4%. I never understood where the 20% came from and what its intent was.

However today because of the rare combination of events as described in my post of which link can be found at the beginning of the post, it did cause an unwanted event and I started importing rather than using my battery.

JMA It was a side effect of that, but you're correct it should not have been. Another value was not correctly set back to 4 on disabling.

admin Thanks for your super quick reaction and fix - much appreciated !

admin Had a better look this morning. The challenge was an 'escapee' instruction

          13/01/24 18:13:21 You Battery Reserve % Limit Written Successfully 20 4 4 Portal - Inverter Settings Tab
          13/01/24 15:06:02 You Battery Reserve % Limit Written Successfully 4 20 20 API - Inverter Presets
          13/01/24 11:58:28 You Battery Reserve % Limit Written Successfully 20 4 4 API - Inverter Settings
          13/01/24 11:58:27 You Battery Reserve % Limit Written Successfully 50 20 20 API - Inverter Presets

This looks like WW checking for my second schedule (Export 15:10-16:10) for which the SOC (70% required) condition was not met

          2024-01-13 15:06:03 49 % 8.8 kWh
Not activating export schedule, conditions not met.

in doing the check it appears the Battery Reserve % Limit is set to the value in the Timed Charge setting. (Which is disabled) Charge to %. Is this a complication as mine is an AC3?

SilverArt It’s not so much in doing the check that this happens. It’s in the disabling of the schedule.

We need to disable the schedule if your conditions haven’t been met, otherwise, next day it could kick in inadvertently if you decide to deactivate your specific export schedule in WW. This was a scenario @JMA encountered which we had to fix.

admin Rotten lot us users😃😃.. WW's getting a rest today, nothing scheduled now until midnight.
Thanks for all of your help.

Not sure if part of this or something new....:
This morning's discharge session didn't see an ECO back to true command until I spotted it and sent one at 12:27

SilverArt Hmm - we can see those values were correctly sent to the Giv API and we received an OK HTTP response message back.

We will add in some more diagnostics to see what's going on.

admin Thank you, it was OK yesterday so if you've not changed anything in that area it's possibly an oddity that happens infrequently.

SilverArt Yeah, seems strange though. We have added more logging, specifically the response we get from Giv API in that Eco-reset scenario.

It might be that the HTTP response code was OK, but the raw response body wasn't valid/formatted correctly - returning error HTML instead of JSON for instance.

admin I have got a very sneaky suspicion that it might be 'busy time' related but I'll leave times as is for the moment.

Hi , for my 9000TL-XH(UP) , things seem to work fine now and tested the integration schedules. Have a problem with discharging though. It did not stop discharging at the stop discharging level (set to 30% in the Wonderwatt schedule ) and depleted my battery till I had to stop it manually at 5% or so. Any known issue ? ( I noted on the Growatt server that I have both an off grid and on-grid stop discharging SOC setting - not visible in the app). The on-grid was somehow set to zero ; any relation to that ?)-thanks

Jorrit Thanks Jorrit, we’ll take a look and let you know.

Jorrit OK, so the the issue with the TLX inverter looks like it does not seem to have percentage SOC targets or stop percentage available against the timeslots, like it has on some of the SPH hybrid inverters.

So best option might be to just cut your end time for the window short, based on a start/trigger SOC as specified in WW and the discharge rate of your inverter.

What setting do you configure and where in the Growatt portal is that? Can you put a screengrab in here for context please?

That the server page showing the two discharge settings. These are indeed no connected to timeslot. Believe these to always apply. So the timeslot would only set the mode (load, grid, battery) .
The app shows that as follows :

So in the app the setting shows UNDER time of use setting , but you can not set it in combination with timeslot , it would apply to all timeslots .. (or so I believe)

Jorrit Thanks for that, we will need to look into this for TLX setups. Will keep you posted.
