johalareewi Hmm, that's kind of what we're aiming to do. But perhaps setting to current SOC doesn't quite achieve that?
Also, not sure whether this works with all Giv inverters in the same way?

admin Can you Pause and then Play again a minute later and send us the Giv logs please when you have a moment?
Here goes. Battery was charging. I did a pasue on the app and battery stopped charging (and discharging). Then did Play to resume everything. Is this what you want from the inverter log?
johalareewi Where on the Giv app do you see the quick Pause and Play buttons?
johalareewi Ace, thanks for that - I think it makes sense to change our 'on hold' to effectively do the same for Giv.
We'll run some tests and get a patch out.
admin Where on the Giv app do you see the quick Pause and Play buttons?
Big round green button at the bottom.
johalareewi Ah - Preferences, 'Show Quick Settings Button' wasn't enabled/toggled on, thanks!
For Giv users, the hold-charge has now been switched out for actual battery pause functionality. Just deployed, version 380.
admin Seems to be better. Last nights results...
Do you need to do the Battery Charge Power changes because you are using timed slots?

Yeah, it's effectively the same as using the Pause button on the Giv app. It's to make sure that during the hold charge periods, there isn't any fluctuation of 100W here and there, which does happen if you're keep AC charge target to current SOC.

The app pause button pauses charging and discharging but for the WW hold feature, you just want to pause discharging so you could just change the discharge settings and leave the charge settings alone.
It's interesting that despite the discharge setting being zero, there was still some discharging (a few Watts). Couldn't test the EV bit because the EV charge was during selected slots only. One night it will happen..

Right, but equally we know we don't want the battery AC charging during hold-charge either, right? So not sure it matters much tbh. Unless I'm missing some elaborate scenario?
admin Its just that on the screen it says it prevents discharge.
Although HOLD implies no charge or discharge.
It is also interesting that the HOLD instruction is sent at the start of the first hold slot but is not released until the end of the charge window (see my inverter log). I would expect the hold to removed at the end of each hold slot block.

Yeah, made sense to implement like this, and then any charge slots will modify charge power again if it's 0.
Mat would be helpful if you could charge from the pv if a hold was set during the day?
Good point.
johalareewi Yeah, with the idea being that it's being reset at the end. Do you see the reset for charge/discharge power in your Giv log?
